Dress for the current weather conditions, gloves, long sleeve-shirt, waders or muck boots may be needed 2. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, water (drinks) 3. No shorts or open toe shoes. We will need 1-2 boats to assist in fairing material/volunteers/supplies

Dress for the current weather conditions, including gloves, waders, muck boots may be needed 2. 1. Mowing phragmites in the Willard Spur area as part of our mitigation program. When: June 19th 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Where: Meet at the Flying J parking lot by the Willard Bay North Marina. We will carpool to the job site Bring: Volunteers will need to: 1. Dress for the current weather conditions, including gloves, waders, muck boots needed 2. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses 4. If you have a gas powered weed wacker with a steel blade, feel free to bring it out. Water and lunch will be provided. What: Wasatch Wigeons will be mowing phragmites in the Willard Spur area as part of our mitigation program.
This service project will be on both BOR and WMA properties. When: June 12th & 13th, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Where: Meet at the Flying J parking lot by the Willard Bay North Marina. We will carpool to the job site Bring: Volunteers will need to: 1. Dress for the current weather conditions, including gloves, waders, muck boots needed 2. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses 3. If you have a gas powered weed wacker with a steel blade, feel free to bring it out. 4. We will need a couple boats to help access the area in the WMA we'll be mowing Water and lunch will be provided. What: Wasatch Wigeons will be:
1. Mowing phragmites along the Willard Bay outlet channel as part of our mitigation program. 2. Clearing old tamarisk that has fallen into the channel creating boating hazardous. 3. Mowing phragmites in the boat ramp parking lot area. When: June 5th & 6th, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Where: Meet at the channel boat launch Bring: Volunteers will need to: 1. Dress for the current weather conditions, including gloves, waders, muck boots needed 2. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses 3. Boats, we do need a couple mud or air boats, to help with get the fallen tamarisk out of the channel. 4. If you have a gas powered weed wacker with a steel blade, feel free to bring it out. Water and lunch will be provided. What: Wasatch Wigeons will be mowing phragmites at Kingfisher wetlands as part of our mitigation program.
When: May 29th, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm Where: Meet at the main parking lot for the Observatory Park in Ogden Bring: Volunteers will need to: 1. Dress for the current weather conditions, including gloves (waders/muck boots needed) 2. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses Water will be provided. Tamarisk removal and phragmites mowing April 24th - 25th, 8:00 am - Dark Meet at the channel boat launch. We will be using excavators to remove the tamarisk trees (including stumps) and shrubs as well as field brush mowers and gas powered trimmers, to mow the phragmites.
Dress for the current weather as all work is outside. Long pants and closed toe shoes are required. Gloves and safety glasses are preferred. Muck boots and waders will also be useful Lunch will be provided for those who work the day, so please let us know your coming in advance. If you have a piece of heavy equipment, a field brush mower or gas powered trimmer with a steel blade your welcome to bring it out. WW will receive a percentage of the proceeds raised from parking fees. Be prepared to stay all day 3. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses Water will be provided. Volunteers who work the entire day will be gifted the following: 1. A couples ticket (plus raffle tickets), to this years corporate banquet at the Timber Mine Sept. 17th 2. A WW hat and lanyard 3.
